Short Bio or Description of your Practice (Optional)
Health Psychologist
I am a warm, genuine professional with a good sense of humor and an ability to connect with many different types of people. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and I actively teach clients strategies to obtain the results they seek. I work well with both children and adults, treating anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, eating disorders, as well as obesity and health related issues. Trained as a health psychologist, I also offer pain management coping skills and I work with people adjusting to injuries or illness.
I worked at the Optimal Weight for Life program at Children's Hospital Boston, formerly as lead psychologist. I teach strategies that are effective in changing the thoughts and behaviors of overweight individuals. I incorporate mindfulness techniques, goal setting and use cbt and dbt techniques as appropriate for the client's unique challenges.
I greatly enjoy teaching children and adults pain management skills, and other coping skills to manage difficult health issues. I incorporate relaxation training, visualization and biofeedback strategies when working with these issues.
